You have the option of either importing your data into the IT Asset Management Pack or manually entering data. Data may be imported using the Provance Data Management Pack or with the CSV import task in Service Manager. Refer to the IT Asset Management Pack Deployment Guide and the Service Manager online help for more information on importing data through the CSV import task. The Tasks pane contains manual create tasks for every form where data is required by the IT Asset Management Pack.
The asset management data that can be imported into the system can come from various sources, as the following examples show:
legacy data from another system
advanced shipping notifications
purchase order (PO) and invoice information
procurement or receiving systems
